Corrupting God's creation 📘

🌿 1. Surah Ar-Rum, Verse 30 (Translation):
“So set your face towards the religion, upright, the natural disposition (fitrah) with which Allah has created mankind. There is no changing Allah’s creation. That is the upright religion, but most of the people do not know.”
(Ar-Rum 30 / فِطْرَتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا)

📘 2. What Is “Fitrah”?
Arabic root:
The root "فطر" (fa-ta-ra) means to create, to split open, to originate, to define the essence.
In the Qur’an, it is used both in the sense of initial creation and the essential, intrinsic nature of something.

🔍 3. What Does “Altering Allah’s Creation” Mean?
🌱 Corrupting the fitrah means:
Allah has created human beings upon an essential nature:
This nature is inclined towards recognizing truth, sensing right and wrong, moral tendencies, and openness to the principle of tawhid (divine oneness).

However, this innate nature can be corrupted, suppressed, or distorted.

📌 In the Qur’anic context, altering the creation:

a) Satan’s Vow (Surah An-Nisa 119):
“I will command them so they will surely change Allah’s creation.”
(An-Nisa 4:119)

The phrase "فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ" indicates the intention to corrupt the natural constitution Allah has placed within creation.

🔎 This alteration may include:

  • Corruption of natural gender or creation,

  • Suppression of moral conscience,

  • Distortion of the divine system revealed through revelation.

🧭 4. Dimensions of Corrupting the Fitrah

1. Individual Deviation:

  • Suppressing the conscience that discerns right from wrong,

  • Dulling moral instincts,

  • Becoming alienated from one’s own self.

2. Societal Deviation:

  • Mixing truth with falsehood,

  • Replacing divine principles with counterfeit laws,

  • Establishing unnatural systems (e.g., systems of oppression or exploitation).

3. Biological or Material Interference (Literal or Metaphorical):

Some classical scholars interpret Satan’s goal to change Allah’s creation as literal (e.g., gender alteration, manipulation of animals).

In the modern age, this may extend to genetic manipulation, artificial interference in human nature, etc.

📜 5. The Qur’an’s Solution: Return to the Fitrah
“Direct your face toward the upright religion—the religion of fitrah.”
(Ar-Rum 30)

The Qur’an proposes the following solutions:

🔹 Listening to the principles of revelation,
🔹 Reviving the moral conscience,
🔹 Remaining on the tawhidic path,
🔹 Preserving the natural order and rejecting fabricated constructs.

📌 Conclusion: What Does “Altering Allah’s Creation” Really Mean?
This phrase refers to the destruction of the human’s natural, moral, and spiritual disposition.

According to the Qur’an, this is part of Satan’s plan, because when fitrah is corrupted:

  • Humans lose sight of the truth,

  • Morality vanishes,

  • Injustice replaces justice.

The Qur’an offers a timeless consciousness that preserves revelation and the principles of fitrah against every form of deviation.
